85 Golfers Raise $150,000 for San Antonio’s Homeless Veterans
On Thursday, October 8, 2026, 85 golfers teed off at Cedar Creek Golf Course in San Antonio for Golfing For Our Veterans, the charity golf tournament hosted by Rick Martinez. Together they raised $150,000 for our local homeless veterans, and everybody had a great time doing it.
A morning of golf with one purpose
Players checked in at 7:00 AM for an 8:30 AM shotgun start: 18 holes on the Cedar Creek course in the Hill Country on the northwest side of San Antonio, played as a four-person scramble with carts included. The day was built around contests, raffles, breakfast and lunch, and one goal: raising as much money as possible for the men and women who served this country and are now without a home, right here in San Antonio.
Made possible by our major donor
Major donorRockstarr MediaThey gave big to Golfing For Our Veterans. Without them, this tournament would not have been possible. Thank you.
Our thanks also go to Propelledit for sponsoring the tournament, to the whole team at Cedar Creek Golf Course, and to every golfer and volunteer who showed up for our veterans.
Why it matters
- 32,495 veterans in America were without a home on a single night (HUD Point-in-Time count, 2025).
- 1,837 of them were right here in Texas (Point-in-Time count, January 2024).
- Veteran homelessness has fallen 56% since 2009 (HUD / VA). It works when communities show up, and San Antonio showed up.
Every man and woman we are playing for raised their right hand and wrote this country a blank check. Some of them are sleeping in their cars tonight, a few miles from this golf course. That is not a statistic to me — that is a neighbor. One morning of golf will not fix all of it. But it can put a roof over a few heads, and it can tell every one of them the thing they most need to hear: you are not forgotten, and you are not alone. Rick Martinez, host
The golf is over. The need isn’t.
